In total estimation is that EU will harvest around 134 million tonnes of wheat in 2013. This is almost 10% more than last year and it is expected wheat to be of good quality.
Russia's 2013 wheat crop at between estimated at 45 and 48 million tonnes. Thats below estimates of agriculture ministry which expects 2013 wheat crop 50 million tonnes. Unfavourable weather didn't support that goal.
Russia's 2013/14 export could reach abot 15 - 20 million tonnes.
This week EU approved export licences for 318,000 t of soft wheat. This makes total 16.9 million t from beginning of the 2012/13 (July-June) season.
Same period last year export was 11.5 million tonnes.
EU also granted import licences for 162,000 tonnes of corn. This season a total of 9.6 million tonnes corn was imported, compared to 4.6 million tonnes last year.
