Corn harvesting has started across Europe. Rain in the past month has slowed the cutting of a crop that already saw growth delays due to a cool and damp spring. EU outlook included an upward revision for Hungary and a reduction for Germany. It is expected EU to gather a large corn crop as big volumes in Eastern countries offset some disappointing yields in the Western countries.

EU monitoring unit left corn crop forecas unchanged from last month. In a monthly report estimated average yield in this year's EU grain corn harvest at 6.88 t/hectare. This was 13.7 percent more from last year's drought-affected yield.
